Bangalore walls get a facelift, will sport colourful and vibrant look
In an initiative to add colour and make the walls in Bangalore look vibrant, BBMP has embarked on the idea of painting city walls with colourful motifs and designs. As a part of this exercise, select walls along some main roads will be painted with pictures of murals, folk art, animals and designs inspired from the nature. This move will make the mundane walls get a character of its own and also will be pleasing to the eyes of motorists and commuters traveling on the road.
The first phase of the exercise will see dozens of artist from the city who will make roadside walls their canvas. The plan kick started on August 15 and will include all prime locations of the city.
Says BBMP Commissioner, "This Independence Day Bangalore will wake up to a colorful morning, with walls painted with different colorful designs. This initiative is a part our Bangalore beautification exercise and we hope that people will appreciate and support BBMP".
The beautification exercise will have different themes. In schools and colleges the walls will have educative and patriotic messages and paintings; walls alongside airport road will have pictures of India's tourist places, Kanakapura road will have the stencil paintings of nature and Bannerghatta road will have pictures of animals.
Public places such as compound walls and outer space of wall of private houses will be painted after taking their consent. This will include art works, public interest message, rangoli paintings and other type's decorations with strong secular and patriotic themes.
